Big Sandy, Tex., Sept. 7. - The negro man found mangled on the Cotton Belt track north of the Union Depot here was identified as John Branham, a resident of Tyler. He was a local retail merchant of that place. The body was identified by H.M. Jordan and Fred Griffin. The remains will be shipped to Tyler.

The 1900 census has John's date of birth as June 1884, and he is absent from the 1910 census. His brother Walter is running the retail grocery store, probably in his brother's stead. Transcriber is not a relative and has no further information regarding this family.
